Hi everyone,

Since July 2005 Bukit Lawang Friendship Fund opened a free English School in Bukit Lawang. Our school has been growing and developing since that time ad we currently have about 65 students that visit our school on a voluntary basis. We provide them with free English education and since November 2007 we also started a free computer course in which we teach the kids to use Microsoft office. Hopefully in future we will also be able to have an internet connection.

At the moment we rent a building in Gotong Royong, just along the main road heading into Bukit Lawang.

We have just bought some land in the new village of Bukit Lawang and will start the construction of our new school building within the next weeks. Our aim is to open the doors of our new school in October. We are momentarily raising all the necessary funds and we hope that we will also be able to build a community play ground opposite the school that can be used by all the children in the community.
