Am visiting in December.  I, like most, really want to see Orangs.  but any monkeys, lizards, whatever will be a cracking change from cold and dark England at this time of year.  I've been doing a bit of research and it appears there are Sumatran elephants, rhinos, crocodiles? and even tigers out there.  Is there even a remote chance of seeing these on a 2 day trek?

Hi.

It's common to see:

gibbons (two different species)
orangutans
Thomas' leaf monkey
iguana (big ones)
long-tailed macaque

Also there are snake species, birds, butterflies, etc. Turtles too.

Elephants come through occasionally, but they are wild and dangerous, and it's not really something to look forward to.

You won't see tigers, crocodiles or rhinos.

If you want to see elephants, there's a station at Tangkahan.

There's a crocodile farm in Medan: Taman Buaya Asam Kumbang.
